What We Look for in a Medical Coding Job Applicant:
In general, an individual working in a coding specialist or a medical coding job for G2N will be responsible for performing coding services on assigned client accounts. This includes reviewing documentation and assigning proper codes as well as clarifying documentation through communication with the physician as necessary. All of our employees and medical coding specialists are responsible for maintaining a current knowledge of coding rules and will need to remain responsive to subsequent training as required. Individuals who are interested in our medical coding jobs should have a desire to work in a flexible work environment. The abilities to work independently and to problem solve are also important traits, which we look for when hiring employees for our medical coding jobs.
For our coding specialist positions, we are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and who possess effective organization skills. An ideal candidate for consideration for these medical coding jobs should have an associate degree, must have an RHIT / RHIA certification, and should have a minimum of one year of relevant work experience. We will also consider individuals with CCS and CPC certifications and relevant experience.
